Tin (Colorbond) or Ali (Aluminium composite) panel signs are the best option for long term signage. They are both extremely durable and rated for long term outdoor conditions.
There are many situations you would use these options ranging from small “location” signs such as toilets up to large building signs.

We recommend you keep the content to a minimum, maximising the font size so that your message is readable from a distance.
